Xu Beihong (1895-1953) is known for his shuimohua (Chinese ink drawings) of horses and birds. Featured in our auction is a scroll of a horse painted in the winter of the Chinese calendar Fu Ying in the 43rd year of the republic of China (about 1930).  The piece is watercolor and ink, measures 53” x 22.5” and is signed by the artist.
